Baba Fasanmi is an international artist, educator, spiritual and creative consultant whose ongoing work includes the use of all of his professional skills to support facilitate growth, healing and to engage communities globally in sharing knowledge and exploring brave new ideas around cultivating wellness, creativity, historic legacy, cultural identity, restorative healing justice, and sustainable community.
Baba Erwin Fasanmi Obaniyi Fayemi Thomas; a child of Cecelia and Edward Thomas, grand child of Eunice & Andrew & Cleopatra & Samuel, and godchild to Chief Oluwo Baba Femi Fayemi & Chief Iya Fayeku Fayemi of O.I.D.S.I.
As founder and creative director of Creative Intelligence Healing Arts (C.I.H.A.), Baba Fasanmi brings an authentic commitment to nurturing his clients’ complete well being. Baba Fasanmi’s mission is to creatively use spiritual tools, ritual and wisdom to consult for individuals, groups, and institutions. His work focuses on helping clients to create, embrace, and celebrate purpose, navigate growth and find balance.
An initiated priest (traditionally titled as a Babalawo) in the West African indigenous tradition of Ifá, an ancient spiritual system universally defined as “the wisdom of nature” in Ode Remo, Ogun State Nigeria by Prince Oluwo Falowu Awoyade Adesanya in 2010. Baba Fasanmi practices under a sacred Constitution of Healing through the Obafemi Institute for the Divine Study of Ifa (O.I.D.S.I. - www.obafemi.org) where he holds the title of Ojubona (one who opens the way).
Creative Intelligence Healing Arts is inspired by over 20 years of collaborative adventures and experiences in performative communal arts, education, civic engagement, and ritual. Baba Fasanmi has an inspiring passion and gift for transforming classrooms, stages, as well as corporate and community spaces. Baba Fasanmi is a lifelong learner of creative ways to navigate memory, identity, history, conflict, and dialogue in the exploration of real-to-life issues, struggles and challenges. Facilitating ritual practices has served as a dynamic tool to explore what was, what is, and image what’s possible. Through this process, Baba Fasanmi works to identify, support, and define purpose through the development of craft, talent, and ideas. Creative Intelligence Healing Arts aims to inspire the purposeful co-creation of sustainable, global villages fit for future generations.
